A whopping 22,018 academic papers were submitted by Egypt in 2018.
Egypt has been ranked in 35th place out of 233 in the number of academic research submissions, according SCImago Journal and Country Rank, reports Egypt Today. The number of submitted research projects in 2018 reached an impressive 22,018.
Three spots higher in comparison to last year, Egypt's academic research has increased by 17.2 percent, with the country's projects making up 12.9 percent of the 10 percent of the world's academic journals. Making it to the top 10 percent of countries where toxins, treatments, pharmaceuticals and drug discovery research submissions are concerned, Egypt is part of the top 20 percent of countries submitting research projects in 40 fields.
Egypt witnessed its highest numbers in medical science with 5,977 submissions. Engineering sciences reached 3,544 submissions and chemistry submissions reached 2,760 in 2017 and 2018.
